Memorial Fund

In 1992, the Board voted to set up a memorial fund to be used for plantings in Windsor Farms.  The Garden Club sets aside $150 for each deceased charter member and past president and one year’s dues for each other member.  Additional donations may be made at the discretion of the Board or by individuals or groups wishing to honor their deceased friends.  A record will be kept of each donation.  In 1995, the Board voted to designate Arthur’s Seat (located next to Virginia House on Sulgrave Road) as the Garden Club Memorial Garden.  The Club reimbursed Windsor Farms, Inc. for the cost of the two benches located there and installed a granite marker reading “Windsor Farms Garden Club, Memorial Garden, 1995” in honor of our deceased members.  In the spring of 2004, the Garden Club purchased and planted two decorative urns by the benches to enhance the beauty of the Memorial Garden.
